Trenton W. Ford

I'm an Assistant Professor of Data Science at William & Mary and Director of the Ford AI & Society (FAIS) Lab. My research examines computational disinformation, network science, and the societal impacts of AI, with a growing focus on human–digital twins and human–AI teaming.

I lead two DARPA initiatives advancing research in human–AI teaming (HAT), human–digital twins (HDTs), and the evaluation of large language models. Alongside my academic work, I'm active in science outreach and science communication — translating research on AI and society for broader audiences.

Advising & consulting

Beyond the university, I advise organizations building and deploying AI systems — on evaluation, risk, and the social consequences of the technology. Engagements range from short advisory sessions and workshops to longer research collaborations. If that's useful to your team, get in touch.
